There is a volunteer working on the rink to try and get it up and going. Please continue to stay off as it is not safe. We will know when it's ok to use. Thank you Drew for your volunteerism!

Just put down two light floods tonight, the ice should be ideal tomorrow. Looks like snow in the forecast, the shovels are outside to clear the ice as needed. Enjoy :-)

Thanks to the group of local high school boys from Lockerby, Loellen, and Lively that are off for exams this week. These young men took the time today to scrape the rink after playing hockey on it, then called me at work to ask if they could flood the ice so it would be ready to go for another round of hockey tonight. I stopped in on my way home from work to see how they did and would like to say they did a great job flooding not once but twice. All of the equipment was put away just like they found it. Great Job Boys! Our community is in great hands with young people like you.

The ODR is Open for use once again!! Thanks to the crew that spent a good chunk of their Sunday afternoon/evening to make this possible. The surface has a few rough spots but that is nothing that a good game of hockey won't take down in no time:) Have fun out there and remember that everyone using the rink is encouraged to pick-up a shovel at some point.

ATTENTION!!!!! EVERYONE PLEASE RESIST THE URGE TO WALK ON THE ICE!! The ice surface is not frozen solid and you will break through causing footprints and high spots for us to repair. If the ice is left alone we can be skating on it very soon! Not today but tomorrow is a real possibility. Thanks for your Cooperation Sixth Avenue Playground Association
