Even on holiday I'm sewing! I took my sewing machine with me on a visit to see my kids and grandkids. Using 3 shades of corduroy, I whipped up this1960's inspired jumper for my oldest granddaughter, who loves cats! And with so much fabric left over, why not an overall jumper for her sister? Took the top of an old pair of too short overalls and attached 3 rows of gathers....and a fabric flower! One more overall jumper to make for granddaughter #3, but I'll need special fabric for that little fire cracker!!

A sweet padded bench seat with some cushy cushions for a wee lad who loves to read! Bench and pillow covers are removable for washing.

In addition to hats and neckwarmers, this little project has kept me VERY busy! My daughter wanted something different for her bed covers. We took a duvet cover, cut off the bottom 1/3, then attached this reversible quilt to add some colour and pattern! And there sure is a LOT of colour and pattern! She didn't want anything "matchy-matchy", so i dug through my stash and found 28 different fabrics--different colours, different patterns and even different ages! There was some vintage floral fabric as well as fabric from the duvet cover that was on her bed as a child! (hey! It was good percale cotton with no stains! I wasn't throwing THAT away!!!) The duvet cover was a dark grey sateen stripe and i have to admit, it looks pretty cool! I also made side curtain panels and sheers for her window.

Oh, Canada! Another early winter project that kept me busy! My daughter had a stack of Canadian themed tshirts. She's been asking for this quilt for several years now, and it was sure worth the wait! First time using high loft batting, first time tying a quilt, first time working with knit fabric. Beginner's luck or superior sewing ability??!!

Just finished a big order--5 tuques for boys and 2 cloches for girls, all with matching neckwarmers. A great little gift for kids and adults alike. Don't see a pattern you like? Let me know what you're looking for and I'll see if I can get it. $25 for both hat and neckwarmer. Please note that licenced fabric (sports teams, Disney, John Deere etc) in flannel is difficult to find. IF I can find what you want, I am more than willing to make you a set.

My beautiful grandchildren will look even more beautiful this Christmas! Finished 3 dresses, sizes 2, 5 and 8, and a little boy's vest, size 6 mos. I used a combination of patterns for the dress design and I'm pleased as punch with the way they turned out. Got a wedding coming up? Need a flower girl dress or a vest for the ring bearer? Look what I'm working on! This is the JC Christmas Dress for one of my granddaughters. The pics don't show the colour very well. The dress is green drapery fabric, shimmery with great draping. The little bib is cotton Christmas fabric. There will be more coming, so stay tuned! Many thanks to my neighbour for helping me with the design. He's a man of many talents!

hats & neckwarmers

Check out these colourful and warm matching hats and neck warmers in various sizes including adults! They are made from fleece and flannelette. The fleece is anti-pill (so it won't ball up after washing) and the flannelette is pre-washed, so it won't shrink. The hats come in 2 styles: toques and "cloches". Toques are only available for the younger set. The "cloche" design is suitable for older girls and ladies. The cloche has a top like a toque, but has a brim that is wider at the front than the back and looks a little more "fancy"! The neckwarmers are completely reversible. They can be pulled up over the nose and mouth if it's really cold, or can be rolled over like a turtleneck for nicer days. The neckwarmers are longer at the front than the back to better protect the neck and chest of kids who don't do their coat all the way up! No buttons, snaps or zippers to worry about.
