The Leduc boat Club is the operating arm of the Telford Lake Alberta Training Centre Society. The Leduc boat Club is the operating arm of the Telford Lake Alberta Training Centre Society. It has been in operation since 2004 when the Canoe/Kayak and Rowing groups came together to develop the Telford Lake site for the 2005 World Masters Games. Since that time the Society has successfully hosted not only the 2005 World Master Games but the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games as well as a number of local, regional, provincial and Western Canada events. Our Mission Statement: To promote and manage water based activities and infrastructure at Telford Lake by providing innovative programming and event hosting for people of all ages and abilities. The multi paddling sport focus of the Telford Lake Alberta Training Centre Society continues to expand on the potential program and event opportunities for the community and the development potential of Telford Lake.

Thinking back about the 2017 paddling season at Telford Lake it has been a special year of new growth and change. On behalf of John, Neil, and the Leduc Boat Club leadership to all of those who helped with school and corporate groups we want to say an extra big thank you. Have you seen the movie, MOANA perhaps you would like to explore the Polynesian sport of Outrigger Canoeing. Please join us for an introductory session to the 6 & 12 seat paddling canoes at Leduc Boat Club Saturday August 26th at 10:00 AM. There will be a fun outrigger race (500m) afterwards for those willing to stay longer.. Cost is $10.00. Do not have to be a member of the Leduc Boat Club to participate! Learn to Canoe at Leduc Boat Club What better way to celebrate being Canadian this year- than by gettting comfortable in the iconic tandem canoe? Learn to exit and enter, maneuvre your canoe and general safety instruction. Drop in for one or more of these "Learn to canoe" sessions. Only $10. Waterfront Canoe Intro- July 27 OR August 3 Thursday- 6- 8:30 pm. For a bit more - Canoe Basics- Thursday August 10th 6- 8:30 pm. (should have intro or general canoe skills) Bring a friend or family member, or come alone. Max class size is 10. If you wish to reserve your spot, please email school.groups@leducboatclub.com We also have a Waterfront Canoe Instructor course on the horizon for mid August. THE LBC IS HOSTING COMPETITIVE NATIONAL DRAGONBOAT QUALIFYING RACES & REC RACES JULY 8 @ 9am PADDLES UP!!! This is a one day super fun race event! Each team will have 3 races. All races are a head to head format. Entry fees are $250.00 per boat. The Recreation Division is to come out and have some fun racing between teams. The Qualifier is a race for teams to qualify for the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships held by Dragon Boat Canada on August 4 – 6, 2017. The race will be 500m on a fully buoyed flatware course. Number of entries is limited to 20 teams total. Registration/Payment deadline is July 6, 2017. Credit card payment for registration fees can be made at Leduc Boat Club Store. There will be a fun outrigger race (1000m) afterwards for those willing to stay longer.. Cost is $10.00 + $5.00 if you want to fun race.
