At near 400 feet above the level of nearby Lake Megantic, Trout Lake is fed by mountain streams and underground springs and a thriving wild brook trout population, growing to a plump 18 inches, is a testament to the water quality. We do not stock our lake!

In the interest of preserving the abundant wild brook trout population, only fly fishing is permitted on Trout Lake. This is the only method which allows you to easily release the fish, when necessary.

No gas-powered craft of any kind are allowed on the lake, only electric motors with batteries or paddle power. This rule insures a peaceful lake experience and a continued pristine lake water quality.

Some boats and canoes are available. You may bring your own boat but we are wary of transporting contaminants into Trout Lake. You must be sure your boat is clean and free of algae, weeds and other possible contaminants.
