Need someone to watch the snake or clean your cichlid tank? I specialize in exotic animal care which includes reptiles, birds, small animals and fish.   From sugar gliders to boa constrictors, I love all kinds of exotic pets. And as a previous owner of different exotic animals I can say it's hard finding a pet sitter. Not everyone is comfortable exercising a rabbit or cleaning an iguana cage. That's why I decided to start my own pet sitting business. I can feed your animal, clean its tank, socialize it and medicate it while you're on vacation or at work. I can also maintain fish tanks with twice a month check ups.

What makes a pet 'exotic'? To me, a pet that isn't a cat or a dog falls into the exotic category. This is because the animal does not belong to the category of the two most common pets in Canada, that being a dog or a cat. So if you have an animal from a popular pet store such as a hamster, or a specialized animal like a frilled dragon, I am comfortable caring for both.
Though, I should also note that I am trained in taking care of cats and dogs, so if you also have one of these more common pets I can also service their needs.

Buy cheep, not cheap for birds

Where do you buy your toys for pet birds? If you frequent dollar stores, you may want to reconsider your purchase. In Australia many pet birds and becoming sick and dying from ingesting zinc, lead and other heavy metals. They are being exposed to these metals through cheap dollar store toys (and cages). Everyone loves a good deal, however it isn't worth it if it puts your animal at risk. Always examine a toy before you give it to your animal. Ask yourself: What is this toy made of? Could my animal accidentally ingest parts of it? Would I allow a child to put this toy in their mouth? If not, should I really allow my animal to put it into his/her mouth?
