The mission of the Haisla Nation is to build a powerful, prosperous and proud community, healthy in mind, body and spirit. The Haisla Nation is the band government of the Haisla people. Our mission is to build a powerful, prosperous and proud community, healthy in mind, body and spirit.
The Haisla people have occupied lands for over 9,000 years, with the traditional territory situated along the Douglas Channel region. Today, the Haisla Nation is centred in the community of Kitamaat Village on the North Coast of British Columbia.
We believe in building a strong and thriving community, with healthy and happy members and a sustained and prosperous environment.

The Clean Up Kitamaat/Kitimat campaign formally begins today. A launch is taking place between 1 and 3 pm this afternoon between the Kitimat Visitor Information Centre and Kitamaat Village Road. Be sure to take care in keeping our environment clean!

Wednesday night's Hide n' Heels event was great fun as men participated in a round of musical chairs while wearing fashionable footwear. They followed it up by taking the Moose Hide pledge, to stand against violence against women and children. moosehidecampaign.ca/

Everyone is welcome to tomorrow's fun event: Hide and Heels! Witness men from the community take a stand by standing up in high heels in an effort to show solidarity against violence against women and children. Light refreshments will be served.
Longhouse Party Youth Workshops
This is really great: three hip-hop acts, including the Snotty Nose Rez Kids, will be offering workshops for Indigenous youth in Northwest British Columbia. You can follow their plan at their Facebook group here:
