Mark Victor Hansen Lori may have had doubts about joining Fit Body Boot Camp (FBBC), but she didn’t let them stop her and we’re so glad they didn’t. A member for less than 3 months, Lori has made some amazing progress not only physically, but in her self-confidence as well. “I wasn’t sure about training with a lot of people as I was so self-conscious of how out of shape I was, but the group atmosphere is encouraging and no one looks down on you for not being able to do exercises with modifications. I am really enjoying it. I have lost 15 pounds in the three months since I have joined and feel so much better. I have more energy now and am sleeping much better at night.” Chronic back pain was a major contributing factor to her previous lack of physical activity. Now, she attends FBBC as often as she can. In a recent Functional Movement Screen (a service offered to our VIP members that assesses the way they move, identifies any concerns and provides individualized corrective exercises based on the results of the screen), Lori and her coach noticed how far she has come in terms of flexibility and range of motion. “I have many back issues: degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, and a few posterior disc bulges. Due to the problems with my back I was finding it hard to do much physical activity. I had gained a lot of weight. A couple years ago I was doing some private training and it was helping to strengthen my back, but my instructor moved away and I found my back getting very painful again and the weight was getting worse.” Lori knew she had to do something before her back regressed further and before she gained even more weight! She was told that the coaches of FBBC would work with her and modify exercises to accommodate her back, so she decided to give it a shot. “[Since joining] my back has gained strength and I can do more exercises without modification (although some will probably always have to be modified). My future goals are to continue building the strength in my back and hopefully lose a lot more weight!” If you are scared to walk through our doors, we get it and promise you are not alone. Lori was nervous too and her advice to you is simple, “Give it a try! You will love it!
