Yesterday, intermediate track athletes participated at the Stone Dust Classic at St. Mikes. Despite the hot and windy weather we had some great individual and team performances. Congratulations to Chris Chen, Merlyn Baxter-Jeffrey and Mikhaila Knox-Keeping who are the Euclid math contest team champions for our zone in Eastern Ontario. 9. The varsity boys’ soccer team travelled to St. Mary’s last Thursday and drew against the foe 1-1. Matt B struck in the first 30 seconds for the offence. Yesterday afternoon, TISS visited NG for a LGSSAA semi-final game and the Knights came out flying. After strong defending and a long diagonal cross by Max, it was super Kieran who volleyed it straight into the top of the net to open the scoring. The floodgates opened early in the second half when Ryan D flopped one past the goalie, then Matt P “The Wizard” set up Matt B for another, then Jared D hit a left foot screamer into the top corner, then Theo T struck, then Dakota B powered home another, and Sheets hit the crossbar! Strong work from Wiatt and Gavin kept TISS at bay and we won 6-0! We host St. Mary’s in the final on Thursday afternoon!
