facebook.comPink Shirt Day’s (held on Wednesday) main theme this year was cyber-bullying. The day was meant to combat cyber-bullying by THINKING before POSTING something NEGATIVE, and instead using the internet to spread KINDNESS. Students and staff showed their support by wearing pink for the day. Way to stand up Mustangs!
The Junior Boys basketball team traveled to Renfrew on Wednesday to compete in the EOSSAA "A" regional championship. In their preliminary pool games, the Mustangs defeated Almonte District High School 41-29 and St. Thomas Aquinas (Russell) 37-28 to advance to the championship game. Their opponent, Glengarry, competed against Rideau (Elgin) and St. Joseph (Renfrew) earlier in the day to eventually meet St. Mike's in the final. In a see-saw battle between two weary teams, the score was tied after three quarters. Unfortunately for our boys, Glengarry made some tough shots in the 4th to pull ahead and claim the Gold Medal. St. Mike's is very proud of the accomplishments of our Mustang Juniors who won the LGSSAA title and now the Silver Medal at EOSSAA. Special thanks to volunteer community coach Dennis Brookson for giving your time to our student-athletes again this year - great job Coach! [Photo credit: Mike Martin]

This is an announcement for our Grade 7 and Grade 8 Intermediate Students. Have you got School Spirit? This Monday, March 5, all Grade 7 and 8 students are allowed to wear their Spirit Wear for a special Intermediate Spirit Day! Intermediate Student-Athletes who currently have a team uniform can also wear their Mustang uniform top as a spirit-wear item. Please note: this is not a high school event, this is for Grade 7 and 8 students only. On Monday, you will get to show off your school spirit as the St. Mike’s Intermediate Boys basketball team welcomes the Rideau Lions for a full court basketball game at 12:45pm. All Intermediate classes are invited to attend the event – and of course show off their school spirit. Students can make fan posters, cheer loudly, and go wild! The best fans will appear on our school Facebook page and in our yearbook. Go Mustangs!

Pink Shirt Day’s main theme this year is cyber-bullying. The day is meant to combat cyber-bullying by THINKING before POSTING something NEGATIVE, and instead using the internet to spread KINDNESS. It is our hope at St Michael that staff and students create a huge Sea of Pink Shirts on Wednesday Feb. 28th 2018. Students will also be signing a pink shirt Pledge to say they will not cyber bully.
