Irricana Lions Club
Description
The Club was chartered in 1976. Sponsored by the Keoma Lions Club. The Club meets every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. It has on the average 30 to 35 members, ranging from 20 to 80 years old. It is a rural club and supports all aspects of the community The Irricana Lions Club was chartered on January 15th, 1976. The club was sponsored by the Keoma Lions Club. Through the decades, the club has sponsored many projects which has benefitted the Town of Irricana and it's surrounding communities; i.e. the Town Community Hall, the Community Park, the Multi-purpose floor in the Recreation Centre, the Splash Park, and as of late the Irricana Lions Centennial Park. The club is also a major sponsor in a variety of sports orientated organizations within the town and surrounding areas. The club also sponsors a variety of events at the community hall, events such as the Annual Steak & Lobster Dinner and Dance, the New Year's Eve dance, the Halloween Dance. The club has the required assets to provide catering services to the Town, local communities and even the City of Calgary. The clubs' make-up is wide ranging. It attracts Town individuals and also the local farming individuals. The age range is from early 20's to the late 70's.The club sponsors a variety of fundraising activities which allows them to provide assistance to the various NGO's within the town. The members are serious about their commitment to the service they provide to the community, and all the while, have fun along the way. Basically speaking, if it happens in the Town of Irricana, you can bet the Lions club is involved as a participant or the actual organizer.Remember, Lions are people just like you and they respect their motto "WE SERVE".

Today, October 27th, 2017, the Irricana Lions Club is hosting a Celebration of Life for the late Peter Santucci. Services to begin at 1 pm at the Irricana Lions Community Hall. Those wishing to pay their final respect is invited to attend. Rest In Peace, Peter

A celebration of life for Lion Gordie Hougard will be held on April 22nd, 2017, at 2 pm, at the Irricana Lions Community Hall. Those wishing to pay their respect are encouraged to attend. In his 38 years as a "Lion", Gordie was a very active member and gave a lot to his community. He will be missed by his fellow Lions.
It is with great sadeness that the Irricana Lions Club has lost one of it's most senior member. Lion Gordon "Gordie" Hougard has passed away this afternoon. This page will advise as to celebration of life for Gordie.
The Irricana Lions Club would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. These are trying times however, we, as usual, will still be here to serve the community because that's what we do. Thank You to those volunteers who helped us throughout 2016, we appreciate your efforts and participation.
On the 24th of October, the Irricana Lions Club inducted a new member into the club.This was a historical event for the club. Lion member Stephanie Crawford became the first female lions member since the club received it's charter in 1976. Past District Governnor Fred Walters officiated the ceremony. The "Culp" family have been predominate with membership into the club and Lion Stephanie is following in her dad's footstep, namely Lion Marvin Culp. Welcome aboard Stephanie and enjoy the ride.
