MAILING ADDRESS:Town of Minto | 5941 Highway 89 | Harriston ON | N0G 1Z0 | PHONE:519-338-2511 | FAX:519-338-2005 The Town of Minto is composed of the former Towns of Harriston and Palmerston, the former Village of Clifford and surrounding rural area of the former Minto Township.

Located in the northwestern boundary of Wellington County, the Town of Minto is well situated between the major centres of southern Ontario and popular recreational areas along the eastern shore of Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay. Minto is located just 1 to 1-½ hours from cities in the “Golden Horseshoe” industrial heartland, like Toronto and Hamilton, and less than an hour from Kitchener-Waterloo, and Guelph. The City of Owen Sound offers Great Lakes port shipping facilities, as does the Town of Goderich situated approximately 100 kilometres to the southwest.

From our earliest history until today, the success of our community has been a product of the creativity and imagination of the people who came here to build a life for themselves and their families. A spirit of enterprise and innovation has been a key ingredient in building the vibrant rural community that Minto is today. Our unique identity as a community is a product of a proud agricultural heritage, the history and
contributions of those who settled in this place, and the sense of volunteerism and commitment to community that has helped us achieve everything that Minto is today. Our culture and heritage is the glue that connects old residents and new, our past and our future.

The Town of Minto is an event and culture-based destination with numerous family-centred events and activities taking place throughout the community all year round. Enjoy our historic downtowns, which
feature live theatre, a cinema, galleries, a railway museum, shopping and restaurants.

Our community boasts three arenas, two swimming pools and numerous ball and soccer fields, acres of parkland and scenic walking trails. Stop and play golf, mini golf and lawn bowling. Minto is also home to wonderful agritourism destinations. Check out some of these unique
properties including Flowers to Fragrance Lavender Farm, WildThings Plant Farm, Reroot Organic Farm, Steckle’s Flowers & Produce and our popular Farmers’ Market in Palmerston which operates from the beginning of June till the end of August.

Escape from the chaos of daily city life and discover why
Minto is where your family belongs!
