Good morning to our wonderful customers! Thanksgiving is over now. And looks like autumn is finally arriving. We've had frost! And now those winter pears sitting on the tree are prime for eating! A bit thicker skinned but they are after all that kind of pear. And juicy! You can come in and try some. We're preparing now for the best time of year....Halloween! Ghosts, goblins, witches, warlocks, kids and costumes! Beautiful. And not to be forgotten (thanks to our traditional commercialized big box stores) Christmas. Remember when it actually meant friends and family spending time together and the excitement of the kids faces when Santa ate all of their delicious homemade cookies. And of course Rudolph ate his carrot for extra energy! Where did the meaning of tradition go? I digress.... Well...If you're looking for those handmade or homemade gifts this year we have a couple of old ladies (Grandmas) busy crocheting and knitting wonderful ideas to suite even the most commercialized person on your list? I mean who doesn't like food? And people have trees to decorate. We are open 365 days a year! We live here...it's not far to get to work really. And the hours are great for you! My dad is up early (drives my mom nuts!) And chickens don't go to bed until 9ish. There's our hours! Stop in and check us out because the colours out here are absolutely gorgeous right now. Don't just drive out here...actually cruise and enjoy the scenery for a change! See you soon Show quoted text

Happy Turkey Weekend! Let's give thanks to tolerable families, to our "tell anything to" friends, to amazing food, to booze! and to each other. We want everyone to have a safe and fulfilling long weekend. Just remember we are open the entire holiday weekend for such red alarm emergencies like a fresh turkey to replace the one hubby thought would taste great if deep fried in peanut oil and came out mummified! Or the dessert emergency that you were supposed to bring to Aunt Betties but forgot entirely to make! Oh and how about the family calling at 4 pm Saturday let you know they had a fight with the in-laws and decided to crash your place for dinner at 6 pm. We have all the extra fixings too! We're here to help as best as we can. We're not that far and the food is just as good as if you made it yourself! Oh yes...you can do it. And if you need to get away from the house we're a lovely drive. Enjoy yourselves.
Hello Food Enjoyers! Happy rainy October 1st weekend. Fall is our favorite time of year. Beautiful colours. Cooler weather and the anticipation of hibernation! We are preparing for the Thanksgiving Weekend. Ordering your turkeys in advance ensures you'll get the size you desire. And don't forget the delicious home made (actually true) pies and desserts. Fall brings on those days of soup and stew and casseroles...mmmm...comfort food! We have the veggies to fill the pot. And if you're looking to do it old school we also carry soup bones and cheaper chickens parts for broth. Just putting it out there too...we will be and always have been open all year long. Including Christmas! You never know when you'll need those extra fixings or dessert emergency. We're open typically by 8 in the morning and usually close around 9 at night depending on the season. We're even open on rainy or snowy days. Oh yes...I said the "S" word Enjoy those snuggling up time days ahead. And eat wonderfully!
Hello everyone. It has been an age since we've been communicating with our food lovers. Harvest season is a very busy time for us both with pulling fruit and veggies in and being able to get them preserved and frozen for the year! I just wanted to post a little note as reminder that our last batch of chickens for the season are leaving tomorrow. They'll be back in cook form tomorrow night if you'd like them fresh for the roasting pan or beer can bbq. To top it off they'll also be .50 cheaper than Friday when they become frozen chickens. If you have freezer space they'll be a great size for 2 people at around 2 to 5 lbs. And they've been eating alot of fruit....the meat will be delish as per usual! We're also thinking ahead to Thanksgiving as our turkey's are growing well. Don't fret as you can pre-order those while you're here tomorrow. They should weigh out between 10 and 25 lbs. And we'll also have a beautiful selection of pies and tarts for dessert. We hope to chat again before the ice age hits!!! Eat beautifully. And enjoy the pure and simple things!
