The City of Temiskaming Shores is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Mr. Wayne Arsenault on May 24, 2017. Wayne started his employment with the Town of New Liskeard Recreation Department in 1989. With the City of Temiskaming Shores, Wayne continued to be a familiar face in the arenas, parks and at City events. Wayne’s hard work and dedication will be greatly missed by the entire City especially his colleagues and friends in the Recreation and Public Works Departments. WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MAINTENANCE Please be notified that the Environmental Crews of the Public Works Department will be carrying out maintenance programs, flushing and testing of fire hydrants throughout the municipal water distribution systems. The work may cause some discoloration in the water; however the effect should be minimal. If a coloured water problem is encountered in your water service line, flushing the service by letting the water run for a period of time should cure the problem. If the coloured water persists, please contact the Public Works Department for assistance. This program will commence the week of May 8, 2017 and will continue until approximately June 16, 2017 Tentative starting dates: May 8th through June 2nd in both New Liskeard and Haileybury. June 3rd through June 16th in Dymond Thank you for your co-operation as Environmental Crews of the Public Works Department carry out this important maintenance activity.

For immediate release Water level warning for Timiskaming Dam Complex area Timiskaming, Quebec, May 1, 2017 — Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise the public that, as a result of significant rainfall forecasted this week on the Ottawa River watershed, levels all along the Ottawa River and on Lake Timiskaming should increase significantly. Water levels will definitely be well above normal for this time of year. The actual water level (as of this morning) on the north end of Lake Timiskaming was 178.8 m and should continue to rise at a rate between 15 and 20 cm per day during the coming week. We should reach the maximum operating water level of 179.56 m by this weekend. Municipalities and residents, especially those in low-lying areas and along shorelines, are encouraged to monitor these conditions and prepare accordingly. Shorelines and banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery at this time and, when combined with cold open water, pose a serious hazard. We encourage everyone to keep children and pets away from shorelines and watercourses. Keeping a close watch on local conditions and staying updated on forecasts and warnings from Environment and Climate Change Canada is strongly recommended. PSPC will continue to monitor weather forecasts, river flows and water levels. This message will remain in effect until conditions change. - 30 - Information Real Property Public Services and Procurement Canada TPSGC.Biensimmobiliers-RealProperty.PWGSC@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca
