Thank you to all who donated to, helped with, and supported the Pancake Supper. We had a great turnout, shared in wonderful fellowship and raised over $200. Court Whist will be held this Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 pm, postponed from last week due to weather. Taize Services will continue in the sanctuary every Wednesday during Lent at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come to this time of reflective prayer and music. Annual Meeting will be held next Sunday February 21. There will be a potluck lunch following the service; bring a dish to share. Plates, cutlery and beverage will be provided. Hope that you will join us for this time of fellowship. Annual reports are ready to be picked up today. Children's Hand Bell Choir - If you are in Grade 1 or above and would like to be a part of Fenwick United's Children's Hand Bell Choir, please come and join us for practice on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 10:50 am; practice days are Feb. 28, March 6, 13 and 20. First "in-church" performance will be Easter Sunday, March 27. For more information contact Linda Sharpe-Pietras. Pelham Syrian Refugees - The Pelham Syrian Refugee Constituent Group is working with four Pelham churches and the entire Pelham community to raise $50,000 to settle two Syrian refugee families. We have to prove that we have $13,000 in the bank in order to submit our application by March 1. So please give generously and soon. Best Wishes – Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating a birthday in February. Our Sunday to celebrate birthdays this month during coffee hour will be Feb. 14. Pancake & Sausage Supper will be held this Tuesday, February 9 - one continuous sitting from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Please reserve a place at the table by calling the church at 892-3081 or 892-6433. Taize Services will be held at Fenwick United Church every Wednesday during Lent, starting this Wednesday February 10 at 6:30. Everyone is welcome to come to this time of reflective prayer and music. Court Whist evening will be held this Friday, February 12 at 7:30 pm. Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday February 21. There will be a potluck lunch following the service; bring a dish to share. All women of the Fenwick congregation are invited to the Fonthill UCW meeting this Wednesday, February 10 at 1:30 pm at Lookout Ridge for an interesting presentation by Brenda and Barbara Peszle on their recent trip to the Sinai Desert and area. Pelham Syrian Refugees - The Pelham Syrian Refugee Constituent Group is working with four Pelham churches, Fonthill United Church, Fenwick United Church, Pelham Community Church and Bethany Christian Reformed Church, and the entire Pelham community to raise $50,000 to settle two Syrian refugee families. The plan is to apply for one family initially and once they arrive, to quickly apply for the second when we are assured of funding and have gained experience with welcoming the first. We have to prove that we have $12,000 in the bank in order to submit our application by March 1. Please note the PSRCG will be indicating the area of settlement as the Niagara Region to insure a location where there are adequate support services. We will strive to find housing as close to Pelham as possible and perhaps in Pelham itself. So please give generously and soon. There will be 30 vendors and services being offered such as massages, foot care and manicures. There will also be a tearoom with sweets. All are invited to come. Birthday – Margaret DeForest, a long-time member of Fenwick United is celebrating her 100th birthday on February 7. Let’s give her a shower of cards.
