Legion Calls on Government to Address Deficiencies in Standards and Supports for Service Dogs

Animal assisted therapy, including psychiatric service dogs can provide incredible assistance for people with mental health disabilities to navigate through life. National standards and supports for the use of service dogs is lacking in Canada and the Legion has been advocating for improved care and access to animal assisted therapy for Canada’s Veterans. We are pleased to be participating on the Canadian General Standards Board Committee to help develop national standards, and we continue to work for improved care for all Veterans. Join us and help us #GETLOUD all year to support our Veterans and ensure their needs are heard.
