Real Mounted Specimen All specimens have died naturally. They were carefully selected, folded, packaged and shipped. I re-hydrate them (2-5 day process), unfold, position and pin for dehydration (3-5 day process). I carefully mount them on a satin or velvet background and frame them in shadow boxes. There are multiple steps to the entire process; very delicate and intricate work using only tweezers, spreading board and pins as they are quite fragile and difficult to work with. Keep specimen out of direct sunlight. RATING: A+ Have antennas, little to no wing imperfections A No antennas, little to no wing imperfections A - No antennas, small imperfections B + Minimal wing imperfections B Wing imperfection and no antennas
