Congratulations to Jack Kent whose years of work breeding Nigerian Dwarf Goats paid off this weekend. He was awarded the highest honour...the Premier Breeder Award (for all breeds of goats) this year at the Canadian East National Dairy Goat Show at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto.

Shout out to Sam, who on Canada Day decided that our Violet should get an award for being CANADA`s BEST PIG. He came with a ribbon with a drawing of Violet (that would make Pablo Picasso proud.) and gave her the award. It is now proudly pinned above her bed. THANKS SAM ! and Big Hogs... or rather HUGS from Violet

Spring is really really really wanting to be here and despite the cold daytime temperature yesterday Violet decide she was going to get some sun no matter what... I have a few friends who are a bit the same way.
I SELDOM THINK TO TAKE A CAMERA OUT WHEN ONE OF OUR GOATS IS KIDDIING. THIS IS ANNIE AND HER NEW BUCK RIGHT AFTER HIS BIRTH...THE FIRST BATH.

I owe big thanks today to Ken Elzinga of Wood and Bees Custom Woodworking in Canfield Ontario. Ken has made a custom wood round frame for my new stained glass project. It is a whirling rainbow design which in traditional societies is a sign of Peace. Ken succeeded where others could not deliver on a project that is large ( 4 feet across) and technically tricky and his woodworking with exotic woods is beautiful.
