We would like to share some very exciting news!!! Amira's brother and his young family will be moving from Vancouver to Chapleau. We are so excited that Rakan and his wife and their 2 year old son want to settle here in our community. They have been in Canada for a few weeks through government sponsorship but are choosing to relocate under that plan to be closer to family. Although we will not be financially sponsoring this family we do want to help them out however we can. Please help us in welcoming them and if anyone is able and willing please don't hesitate to contact our committee members to help this family get settled.

What a beautiful family! It was a wonderful experience - we shook hands, shared a meal together and communicated through smiles and hand gestures and laughter. The children's open and uninhibited appreciation of the simple pleasures of their own beds and some toys was heart bursting - I can't wait to see what new experiences tomorrow brings

Dear friends of Amira We are overwhelmed by the kindness in your hearts and the incredible outpouring of community support we have received. We are receiving a number of inquiries for items we still need. We are currently in search of kitchen wares to complete the set up of the apartment. We need pots and cooking utensils please. Also we could use an entrance mat, area rug, TV, coat tree, and a baby gate. If anyone has any lightly used items they would be able to part with please send a msg to Lina DiPasquale, Miranda Lambruschini, or Sebastien Groleau
