Branch 154 held the annual Public Speaking contest on Saturday, 4 March. Thirteen students from Caledonia Centennial and River Heights Public Schools and St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic School participated supported by about forty family and friends. The winners received small cash prizes and first place winners may progress to the Zone finals to be held in Simcoe on March 25th. Primary Division 1st Lexi Miller-Cluckie Grade 3, Caledonia Centennial Junior Division 1st Medea Faulkner Grade 6, River Heights 2nd Zöe Tjepkema Grade 4, Caledonia Centennial 3rd Maddi Shaw Grade 6, St. Patrick’s Intermediate Division 1st Ava Burtis Grade 8, River Heights 2nd Kennedy LaPensee Grade 7, Caledonia Centennial 3rd Hayden Miller-Cluckie Grade 7, Caledonia Centennial Congratulations to all the contestants and thanks to the family and friends who came out in support. Special thanks to Barbara Martindale, Karen Cosier and Gail Bell for acting as judges for the event.

Branch 154 Ladies' Auxiliary sponsors a complete Roast Beef Dinner in support of the "Raise the Roof" campaign. Tickets are $15 each available at the bar till March 15th. Have a great meal and Raise the Roof as well.

School Public Speaking Competition
The Annual Public Speaking competition for students of Caledonia and area public and high schools will take place upstairs at the Legion on Saturday, 4 March. Registration begins at 9:30 with speeches beginning at 10:00. Family and friends are welcome. Cash prizes. For more information, contact Neil Bell at 905-765-6075.
