Media Marketing represents
a vibrant group of liquor agencies,
distributors and winemakers
in promoting products
through sampling and tasting. In 1997, a part-time product demonstrator caught the eye of Canada’s largest wine distributor. Joanne Melino’s distinctive style and passion for results made for an undeniably successful selling strategy. Utilizing her trademark selling approach and strong work ethic, she accepted the challenge of training a team of product demonstrators on behalf of the distributor. Product sampling increasingly became one of the industry’s most effective promotional tactics.
Over the next 3 years, Joanne recognized the growing need for a standalone company that could partner with liquor distributors and specialize in managing and executing product sampling campaigns. To be successful, she knew such a company would need to understand a distributor’s products intimately, maintain an intensive training regimen for demonstrators, and possess the know-how to independently schedule, staff and manage varying events. Addressing those very needs, Joanne established Media Marketing in 2000. Known as “the little company that grew,” Media Marketing soon expanded to represent numerous liquor agencies ranging from large multi-national corporations to small independent estate wineries.
