St. Augustine of Canterbury Church has the Saint John’s Bible in its possession. The Saint John’s Bible is described as the first handwritten and illuminated Bible to have been produced since the creation of the printing press. I have attached a few illuminations courtesy of my iPhone. Originally it seemed the Bible would be in our possession for a number of weeks and then it seemed that we would be able to access it not at all and so to have the Saint John’s Bible even for a short period is a pleasant surprise. Any event though will come as short notice. The following is no exception: On Monday evening - of 20 November - at St. Augustine Church at 7:00 PM those gathered will celebrate Evening Prayer. A handout will be created for the purpose of aiding participation and opportunity will exist afterward to take a closer look at this beautiful production. While Evening Prayer is more grounded in certain traditions than others this invitation is extended to all. Please come and spread the word prior to doing so!
