Description
Yoga programming for children and families where they are every day - daycare! Fostering connections rooted in love and awareness for self and others. In school, we are taught our ABCs and 123s, how to read, how to write, how to solve math equations, how to read the periodic table and about the history of our country, but there is no class on self-love, or compassion, or resiliency. Our hectic and busied lives do not create the space required for what most humans desire for most: happiness. The natural tendency of every parent is to want to do everything in their power to give their children their best shot at life, but the to do list on the fridge is never ending and the constant back and forth to school and soccer and ballet and birthday parties leave limited time to simply breathe and enjoy.
Lisa and laLa wellness offer a solution for those parents who want to give their child every extra-curricular opportunity possible but can’t find the time to manage it all by providing inclusive and non-competitive programming in a space where their children already are every day: daycare! With each class, Lisa creates positive environments and experiences that the whole family can benefit from for a lifetime, simply by planting seeds of self-love, self-care and compassion towards body, breath and mind at a time that is critical to the development of neural pathways: childhood.

This week's #YogaMoment is on its way! Just loading sooooo slowly - it must be meditating or something ... ;)
Your #YogaMoment - A Guided Meditation for Greater Self Awareness
Happy #yogamoment Monday everyone! Today I wanted to dive a bit deeper and give you a Guided Meditation to increase your connection to your body and your personal awareness. It's perfect for anyone who feels a little misaligned or 'out of whack' and is super simple, I promise! This meditation is an awesome way to tune in to the present moment and really allow yourself to feel through all of the spaces in your body. It's about 8 minutes long and requires very little effort - just some listening ears and an open mind :) #laLa #laLayoga #laLamindfulness #laLameditation I'm also going to annotate it here just in case you'd like to read through the guide vs. listening! (But a pro-tip, listening is easier!) Start by getting into a comfortable position - whatever comfortable means to you :) - If you're comfortable with closing your eyes, do that too, or keep your gaze soft in front of you - Tune into the natural rhythm of your breath - noticing the way that it flows in and out through your nose, and any sounds that it makes. Continue this natural rhythm as you draw your awareness throughout your body - Draw your awareness up towards the crown of your head, notice any sensations that may be happening there - Gently bring your awareness down between your eyebrows, noticing any tension that may be there and softening the space as best as you can - Relax the eyes as best as possible - Relax your jaw - Shift your awareness to your shoulders, allow them to soften away from the ears - Bring your awareness down your arms, through to the elbow, down to your wrists, into your hands and your fingers, notice any tension living in those spaces and letting it go as best as possible - Draw your awareness back up your arms and down through your spine, one vertebrae at a time. Noticing the way that the breath expands the back with every inhale, and rests with every exhale - Draw your awareness down further to your hips and sit bones, noticing the weight that is there as it sinks into the surface - Guide your awareness down your leg, notice any tension that may have crept in there and releasing it as best as possible - Draw your awareness to your knees, notice any sensations that are there. Down through your calves and your shins, your ankles and your feet. - Wiggle the toes just a bit to let go of the last bit of tension that may have been pushed down there. - Feeling as relaxed and rested as much as possible in all of the spaces in your body, draw your awareness towards your heart - express gratitude towards yourself for allowing yourself these moments of paying attention to your body. - Express gratitude towards the natural rhythm of your breath that is always there for you - Express gratitude towards your body for all that it does, all that it is capable of, all that it allows you to do - Send a smile across your lips - gently wiggle your fingers and toes and give yourself a full body stretch And that's it! You did it!

Your #yogamoment for practicing mindfulness and unity through ...
It's #yogamoment Monday and this one is all about how we can use sound to bring the energies of a group of people (children and adults alike) together. Sound is such a cool and interesting way to transition from one point in time into the present moment. And when you really focus on just sound through a practice like Humming Breath, you provide a sensory experience that is seemingly individual, but beautifully connected through vibrations and harmony. #laLa #loveandLightalways #kidsyoga #kidsmindfulness #mindfulclassrooms #mindfulteachers #mindfulhomes #mindfulparents

I absolutely love what I do - especially when I get to share it with special Mom & Daughter duos. These 4 had me in tears at how beautiful their together-practice is after just one class. The pictures below are of the intentions they set for our 10 weeks together. Safe to say it's going to be an incredible journey! https://www.instagram.com/p/BKmOnsQBDe5/
