Chinmaya Mission Toronto
Description
Our Mission
"To provide to individuals, from any background, the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to society."
Our Motto
“To give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time.”
Inspired by Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinamayananda, and with his blessings, in 1998 a few devotees began a Chinmaya Bala Vihar and an Adult Study Group on Shrimad Bhagavad-Gita. In 2003 we moved to our new ashram in Maple and with the grace of Pujya Gurudev our centre has grown vastly over the years. What began with 5 children and 2 teachers has grown over the years to 125 children. Activities and classes continued to increase and Chinmaya Mission Toronto was formalized to serve the spiritual and cultural needs of our communities – for children, youth, university students, and adults. Through our continued growth we have been able to reach out to more and more people through our diversified programs and activities. We look forward to reaching new heights with you.
CM Toronto hosts numerous satsangs, spiritual discourses, jnana yajnas, and camps throughout the year, all conducted by CM Acharyas, including Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, Swami Ishwarananda, Swami Shantananda, Swamini Shivapriyananda, Swami Prakashnanda, Br. Barry to name a few.
The activities of the centre in Toronto include conducting and supporting:
