The Annual Apple Spiel has once again come to an end. Unlike other years, the farewells from non-Berwick curlers were not only to fellow curlers but to the Club itself as this is the final Apple Spiel at the “old” building. We look forward to hosting the 2019 Apple Spiel in our new Berwick Curling Club in the Larsen Curling Centre. With 4 sheets of ice, there will be more teams and more excitement! Friday Night Beginner League is cancelled for March 2nd due to the Apple Spiel which starts on Friday night. Beginner League will resume March 9th.

Give Curling A “Shot” Drop into the Berwick Curling Club Sunday February 11th 1-3pm to check it out. Chat about the sport, see if it might interest you or a family member(s) and even get on the ice. *if you think you may want to go on the ice, please bring a pair of clean soled sneakers/non-slippery footwear. Clean meaning that there are no traces of mud/dirt/pebbles/debris as it can scratch the ice or leave dirt behind. We hope you will drop in!!

AED training for all club members: The Club recently purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine for use in a medical emergency. Access to this type of machine can make the difference between life and death for someone experiencing a life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. The provider of the machine, Nancy O’Halloran of BraveHeart First Aid, will be conducting a training session on how to use the machine. These machines are very intuitive, and it is easy to learn how to use. The training will be offered: Monday, February 19, 2018 at 6 pm, in the Wilson Room at the Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, 121 Orchard Street in Berwick (the old hospital just East of the curling club). Go to the front entrance, and once inside, the Wilson Room is straight down the hall, first room on your left after you pass the elevators (on your right). Please think about taking the time to learn how to use this equipment. Your knowledge could be the difference in an emergency situation.
