Berwick Weaving Co. offers custom- and ready-made handwovens using mostly locally-sourced fibre. I am fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The pace is slower, and there is a thriving artisanal ethic. I use my trusty old Millville loom to weave (mostly) local fibres to create functional and decorative fibres.
Look through the albums - there's sure to be something that speaks to you.

Spring!

I’ve been weaving with a purpose for the past little while. I don’t do a lot of shows, but there’s one here in Berwick on 08 April (this Saturday), and it was so much fun to try to work up some spring-like weaving. I’ve got some “seasonless" shawls - silk and mohair, cotton, merino. I’ve also made something new to me - a few “stroller blankets” - the perfect size for a stroller (hence the name) and machine washable materials. I liked those Stroller blankets from the other day so much that I thought I'd make some others - similar, but this time using cotton and merino. No synthetics, a little more "luxe".

Research tells us that babies first see the colour red, and respond mostly to strong contrasts such as black and white, or stripes. Here are two red/white/gold “stroller blankets”, 25” x 32” both machine washable (acrylic). Very soft, warm, and washable.
