-Opened in May of 1972, Mae's Travel has been servicing clients of Essex County for more then 40 years. Mae's Travel has booked the World starting out from her kitchen table in Harrow, Ont. to their current location at 63 Richmond St in Amherstburg. Mae & her daughter Wendy who was the office manager and still is today booked the 1st bus tour to Holland Michgan's Tulip Festival with just 16 passengers. After the success of that tour she partnered with Habbirk Tansit and headed to Nashville Tenn. with 2 buses. Mae was then hooked on travel and Nashville is still her favorite place to visit. Shortly after the new law came into play stopping home based Travel Agents, Mae had to open up an office front in Harrow and then moved to Amherstburg over 25 years ago. Here she enjoys a great location where the walls are painted with murals of airplanes, maps and tropical vacations paradises which gives an atmosphere of comfort and family connection that welcomes newcomers and keeps travelers returning 40 years later.
