MEI Middle Grade 8 Renaissance Fair was filled with color, songs, great food, and displays -- all in a Renaissance theme! Students assumed roles from King and Queen, to lowly Serfs. Costumes were authentic and very detailed with enthusiastic participation by everyone. A big thanks to all the parents who joined in to make this experience such a great success.

Secondary Announcements Today is the Thai student’s last day at MEI. Please come to the front foyer at lunch time to see some Thai exhibits and to say goodbye to our friends from Thailand. Gulliver’s Travels begins next week! Tickets are available in the office. Next year’s yearbook students need to hand in their permission forms by today. Calling all hockey players at MEI. Important meeting in the library today at lunch. This is a very important meeting for anyone who plays hockey at MEI. Any Grade 12 student who wants to re-write the English Provincial exam, needs to complete a form in the office by Thursday May 14th. Please eat your lunches, but if you have leftover vegetables or fruit, come drop it in the bin outside Mrs. Thiessen's classroom for the rats.

Dress up for: Fake-an-Injury Thursday and Star Wars Friday. Calling all hockey players at MEI. Important meeting in the library Friday at lunch. This is a very important meeting for anyone who plays hockey at MEI. This is for players in the hockey academy and for anyone who isn't. We want all players to hear some new and exciting information. A reminder that UFV Advisors will be on our campus TOMORROW (Thursday) to meet with students 1-on-1. This is a wonderful opportunity for Grade 11s and 12s to talk to and ask questions of people who are experts about UFV. The sign-up sheet is on the Grad Bulletin Board in Student Services. Any Grade 12 student who wants to re-write the English Provincial exam, needs to complete a form in the office by Thursday May 14th.

This week is out of this world! Dress up for: Camo Tuesday, Workout Wednesday, Fake-an-Injury Thursday and Star Wars Friday. The Senior Girls soccer team won silver at the Christian schools soccer tournament this weekend! In the semi-finals the girls beat LCS in a shootout after a 1-1 tie. With only 1 sub in the final game they lost to credo 1-0. Outstanding players who played all 4 games during the tournament included Jasman S., Teagan B., Ishmeet R., Nicola P., Anshika J., Gurleen M. and Sarah K., our goalie, who made some spectacular saves! The team plays a qualifier game this Wednesday for a berth to the Fraser valleys. Congratulations to the Track and Field team for a great Abbotsford / Missions Championships last week. Tamara A. once again won all her events to win the Sr. Girls Aggregate Award. This is her second win this year. Cailin B. won 2 of her events coming close to winning the Jr. award. Upper Fraser Valley Championships are this Wednesday and Thursday at Rotary.
