Description
In our Institute we focus on St. Augustine, his spirituality, his works and influence on the world history, etc. Similar attention is the history of OSA The Institute houses a specialized scientific library with a collection of more than 40,000 works relating to Augustine and the Augustinian Order. These include some valuable and rare old prints, mainly in its division in Ghent. The institute currently receives some two hundred journals. Its catalogue can be easily consulted here (you can limit the search under “Religieuze instellingen” by selecting “Augustijns Historisch Instituut”).
In addition, the library offers an optimal environment for study, comprising of two quiet reading areas and three small rooms adjacent to the monastery garden. Visitors have access to computers, the internet, and some specialised databases.
