Slow wine - Natural Italian wines
Description
We offer natural wines from small scaled, passionate and environmentally conscious Italian winemaking experts directly to Belgium and the Netherlands Slow wine imports natural wines from Italy. Wines that we buy directly from small producers. These wines are made with conviction, passion and love for the craft. We have been guests of these producers who make these wines in Italy. They intrigued us with their story of winemaking, the story we would love to share with you.
The wine virus has, mother and son, both educated sommeliers, infected us. We are on a quest to every corner of Italy for natural, artisanal wines. We work together with producers who personally have convinced us of their working methods and life philosophy as being "slow". Italy is the source of the slow food movement wherein also the slow wine movement was born. These wines all have their own character and are made in an honest way, by producers who feel responsible for our wellbeing, our children and everyone’s future in a healthy world.
Natural wines are the result of a process where a minimum of interventions have taken place, no additions with the exception of small doses of sulphites and light filtrations. The winemaker is looking precisely to maintaining the particularity of the grapes and the unique, local circumstances. The result is a wine with a soul, a one-of-a-kind wine with an own identity and a pronounced character. At this point we can see the parallel with their makers, who are also one by one strong personalities. You can taste these characteristics in the wines.
With food and beverages, it’s important to know where it comes from, how it’s made and who made it. We want to make sure the quality is high and that we will be able to enjoy it with great pleasure. Slow wine wants to get rid of long chains and of the impersonal character that food and drinks tend to get. We aspire to make direct contact and act as a bridge between the person who creates and the person who enjoys and drinks.
After these exclusive wines have been brought to Belgium, they also deserve an exclusive place to rest and mature. For this we discovered the beautiful marl caves in Kanne, a historical place with the most excellent conditions to accommodate these special wines. From these caves, we deliver our wines directly to restaurants, wine bars, specialists and to our dear guests homes.
We heartily invite you to come and get to know our wines and us. Join a tasting, visit our website www.slow-wine.net where you can find all the information about out wines and their makers, order at will in our web shop. We also invite you to subscribe for our newsletter. You can always contact us by sending an e-mail to olga@slow-wine.net or call +32 (0)12 457425 or +32 (0)468 189493

Mount Vulture in the North of the Basilicata region, is a passive volcano where some "Aglianico del Vulture" vineyards of Musto Carmelitano are thriving at altitudes of 550m. Their age varies between 45 and some over 100 years old. The results are Aglianico's with unknown and unmatched freshness, elegance and juiciness. 💦 Elisabetta Musto Carmelitano Azienda Agricola Musto Carmelitano

Nino Barraco, a unique artisan in the winemaking world. The man who can translate an expression of the Marsala sea into his wines. It's always such a treat to open one of his bottles and let the flavors carry you to Sicily. His Grillo is characterized by notes of almonds, cedar, Mediterranean herbs and seductive mineral hydrocarbon scents. It feels round, intense, fresh, persistent and with a well integrated acidity. #barraco #naturalwine #sicily #grillo

This is a #naturalwine from the Sicilian key grape🍇 #nerodavola. It distinguishes from the mass production in identity and eccentricity. We start our aromatic journey with ripe and juicy flavours of cherries 🍒 and mulberries. It continues with exciting salty flavours of anchovy, #seaorchin and mussels. In between we find delicate spicy notes of black pepper, cacao and #staranise.
