Mister Y. Gin -A true mystery- After a long search for the perfect gin, the distillers were giving up. They decided to give it one last try. But the gasses of previous attempts found their way out of the copper pot still into the room while mixing the botanicals for the last batch. Because of the gasses, Mister Y, the master distiller, lost control of what he was doing and mixed up everything within his reach. When he woke up he was terrified of what he was going to see. But on the contrary, what he saw was what he had been looking for the entire time.

OUR STORY Our story starts when we were fresh out of college and weren’t sure what to do with our lives. Our solution? To road-trip across the Mediterranean Sea. What started as a road trip sparked our first gin, Mean Louie's Gin Mediterranean. OUR GIN Unlike mass-produced factory gins, we do everything by hand. It takes more time and effort, but we believe you can taste it in your very first sip. All juniper and botanicals are infused into a neutral premium spirit, which is a modern interpretation of the bathtub gins that were so common in America a century ago. The base spirit is made of 100% grain. Each batch yields 50 bottles of gin and our process takes 7 days. Our gin has a pure herbal aroma and tastes smooth finished with some subtle tannins of citrus influence. It’s also good enough to drink on its own and we’re proud of that. Suits perfect with an aromatic or neutral tonic. The color itself is slightly golden hue, almost that of a Champagne after adding a tonic, largely owing to the botanical infusion. OUR BOTANICALS Mean Louie’s Gin is mainly made with fresh citrus peels & herbs and hand-cracked juniper. By hand-cutting the citrus fruit & herbs, and releasing the essential oils in the juniper berries, we make a more vibrant gin than the distillers who use frozen or dried citrus peels. Next are all competing botanicals infused in our premium base spirit. In other words, the production method clearly differentiates itself compared to a distilled gin but results in good quality as well. We take the time to do it right and we believe we present you a notable gin!
