Within central European culture, eroticism is no longer a taboo topic. Moreover, it is openly present throughout literature, press or visual arts. During around 20 talks, researchers from Austria, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and Serbia will take a closer look at numerous aspects of eroticism in Italian and British Cinema. The program features presentations about movies by Michelangelo Antonioni, Stanley Kubrick, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dario Argento and Michael Winterbottom. The opening of the English-speaking event on November 9 features talks as well as a workshop on eroticism in video games. The event in Klagenfurt, organized by Jörg Helbig (Department of English and American Studies) and Angela Fabris (Department of Romance Studies), is part of an international conference cooperation with the Universität Kassel, which holds its event from October 27th to October 28th under the topic of “Eroticism in Literature and Theater”.
