Wow wow wow what a big weekend...Megsy even had to give herself a day off today to recover lol. We travelled around the peninsula and up the coast for weddings and an engagement party, and Sunday weddings must be jinxed with rainy weather, as our two planned out door ceremonies both had stressful last minute changes to inside settings. Local couple Ashleigh and Brett celebrated their engagement with a "White" themed party at Ettalong Diggers on Saturday night with over 100 friends and family. More pics to come of this gorgeous styled room and happy couple. Everyone that popped into the Pretty Beach room to have a sneak peak, were guessing it was going to be a surprise wedding with an abundance of fresh white flowers and candles gracing the guest tables. We then headed up to the gorgeous and very funky venue at Forresters Beach, Gracelands, to set our white Americana chairs for the gorgeous ceremony of Rachel and Daniel that Rebecca from Kurtzys Flowers & Event Styling had planned. It was then off to the The Reef Restaurant at Terrigal Haven to erect their white chiffon bridal backdrop as a big contingent of other suppliers bumped in a short turn around, including my friends mother and sisters band, Love Letters Sydney and #InAnInstant providing a fantastic, and original open air photo booth, all while Bec and her team were putting the finishing touches on the beautiful table arrangements and cake. Back to Forresters for the pack down and a well earned dinner break at Fish & Co. Terrigal on the way home with my old Ever Ready girls, Mum and Marianne. Quick nap on the lounge before a 11.30 pack down back at the Diggers. A 9am Sunday pack down wasn't too hard either when we got to enjoy the views at the Haven, before heading back to our warehouse to load up for another two wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions. Melinda and Ash travelled from Queensland for their coral palette wedding at Ettalong Diggers with their planned beachside ceremony quickly transferred to the Patonga ballroom, when we watched the rain coming through from Barrenjoey headland as we began to set up on the viewing deck. Unfortunately Tabitha and Paul's planned ceremony on the new tee 3 atEverglades Club also had to have, exit stage left, to the auditorium to stay dry. An elegant and intimate, navy blue inspired reception was set for 40 in the Burgundy function room. Have to give mum a big pat on the back for making the floral table arrangements and bridal parties bouquets. So happy the skies cleared briefly to allow both couples to get some pics and for us not to get wet as we rushed from one ceremony pack down to the other. After both reception pack downs this morning, it was great to hear from all our lovely clients today with big thanks for what we had done and to let me know they all had amazing nights. ❤️ Loved each and everyone of them. More pics and each couples story to follow. Big thanks to my fantastic team who resign every week, but even when the pressure is on we still have plenty of laughs and love looking back at our completed work with a big sense of achievement.

Unfortunately there is only one element of a meticulously planned wedding that can't be controlled ...the weather, and yesterday I felt so disheartened, that such a lovely young couple that I have worked with for the past year planning their wedding, had their plans thrown into disarray because of the rain. Their planned 3.30 pm, Pearl Beach Arboretum ceremony, with canapés and refreshments served to their guests in the surrounds of gorgeous gardens, had to be relinquished, and replaced with a 6 pm service at their reception venue, of The BOX on the Water, Ettalong Beach. But despite the disappointment, this relaxed couple remained up beat, in having to make the hard decisions to change their entire plans. At the end of their wedding day, they are still married, and are just as happy, and in love, regardless of any photos in the sun. You couldn't complain about the backdrop of their gorgeous beachside venue, which allowed for the glass doors to be pulled up, and the wide eaves prevented the rain coming in, so they could enjoy uninterrupted water views behind their lace and floral arbour. If you know the venue with polished concrete floors, lacquered marine ply walls and an abundance of Boston ferns hanging from the ceiling, you will know it doesn't require to much styling, so we think Blair's choice of a garland of green peppercorn, babies breath and bud wax running along the entire length of the tables was perfect, and was accompanied with a trail of pillar wax candles for intimate lighting. Matt is colour blind, so Blair was surprising him by wearing a blue wedding dress, and I also had blue linen napkins made to compliment the table setting, as was the colour of the cake. The natural coloured jig saw puzzle, that Blair and Matt had made for their guests to pen messages on, was a great idea and also matched their laser cut wooden name tags. I was so relieved to hear from Blair today, with big thanks saying her and the new hubby loved how beautiful it all looked....have to agree with them there. Big congratulations to Mr and Mrs Clark...as the old saying goes rain on your wedding day is good luck ❤️.

A 4.30 am road trip to Sydney markets this morning, was made a whole lot brighter with the sight of a display of the gorgeous range of Spring flowers available now. The colour spectrum of ranunculus is just divine aahhhhh, love this time of year ! A long detour on the way home to Maccas at Thornleigh, just to get a avocado and tomato smash helps with the trip as well, except I wasn't happy to be told today they removed the olive oil drizzle, because too many people complained about the extra calories...WHAT THE ??? Don't people know it's always about the taste, just like it's always A B O U T T H E L O O K Lol 😂💄👠💃🏾

Just received an email from Sarah and Michael to lock us in for their March 2017 nuptials, at Iron Bark Hill Vineyard in the Hunter Valley. I have known Sarah and her parents since I was a young teenager, and what makes me so happy is to read that she is "Honoured for me to help them with their special day" I know I am a big softie, but for me to play such a special part in contributing to one of the most important days of any ones lives, is absolutely so fulfilling, and it couldn't rate any more higher for ultimate job satisfaction. Watching a bride arrive, with the biggest smile on their face, and waving to me from the car, with the "we did it ...today's the day" look, or receiving the biggest hug off them at the end of the night, when we go to pack down is really the best feeling of achievement, to hear the bride say "we made their day". To actually be involved in planning the wedding day of a friend, my friends children, or my children's friends, is really so special, and it remains an unspoken bond that is shared. So to Sarah and Michael, it is me that is HONOURED to be part of your day <3...and what a bloody amazing day it will be, with everything they have in store for their family and friends, not to mention a flow of tears from very proud parents, watching their only daughter walk down the aisle. !!

With rain in the Hunter Valley on Friday, plans for local couple, Natalie and Kody's ceremony in the grassed courtyard of The Tuscany with the vineyards as a backdrop, were certainly dampened, literally, but I don't think either of them could complain about the Plan B setting inside the Mill restaurant, where their reception was being held and would revert to the dance floor after the completion of their service. The bridesmaids wore red strapless gowns and looked so beautiful, and the groom wore cute black suspenders, and bow tie with grey pants, as did the groomsman. Nat looked gorgeous in her crystal bodice gown and veil, and you wouldn't have know she was a bundle of nerves, as the music started to play for her grand arrival. So good to see the Peninsula crew partying till the end, with the bride the last to leave, in her once gorgeous bridal gown, transformed into a black balayage one 😂😂😂. I absolutely loved this striking styling combination of red, black, white and gold sequin....black organza sashes were tied on white chairs, with an aisle of the amazing colour of fresh red roses, white gloss plinths and urns were filled with fresh babies breath and red roses, and a sophisticated soft chiffon arbour was set with one drop of black and red roses aaahhhh!! Black and white ottomans were also set as a chill out area accompanied by high bar tables and soft organza overlays. The glamorous reception tables were set with gold sequin table runners, gloss black candelabras, red roses, candles and the White linen napkins were replaced with black for the guests and red for the bridal table with gold and black charger plates, with the newlyweds sitting in white Tiffany chairs with black pads. The guests had white Lycra chair covers and black bands. Our gold sequin floor length cloths were used for the gift and cake tables. Being the sook I am I became quite emotional seeing these young kids, (as I still refer to them) get married and provide such a wonderful day for their family and friends. Friends with my children as were some of the bridal party, since they were teenagers, from school to surfing, camping and being their netball coach, I love seeing them doing so well in each of their adult lives, and as much as they can be wild, they are still so respectful. and yelling out chants of Megsy at midnight, and receiving big hugs off them makes me very happy and very proud of who they are. ❤️ Sending lots of love and congratulations to Mr and Mrs Kody Rickit xx

When you have a wedding in the Hunter Valley, with an 11 pm pack down, it's a good excuse to spoil the old girls with dinner, and an overnight stay....oh did I mention drinks in front of the fire place, where we"re toasting the newlyweds...congratulations Mr and Mrs Kody Rickit. Maybe I should be a little worried about having to go back out to The Tuscany solo, cause after a couple of Crownies and Scotches, they will be ready for bed not to take chair covers off😂😂.

The weather gods were definitely watching over Emma and Peter when they planned to have a beach wedding ceremony in Winter. When we drove in to the carpark of Kiddies Corner, It was such a surprise to see it packed on a Saturday in August. Coral sashes with fresh greenery on the aisle chairs, dark stained arbour with macrame drop, vine and florals, natural woven mats with a wheat grass lined aisle, rustic spools with fresh flowers in copper, clear, and brown glass vases, inspirational signage, timber LOVE letters, and our shabby chic white and timber slatted signing table made the most picture perfect setting. I absolutely loved this set up!! The couple did something different with their vows, by incorporating a plant ceremony, where they had a jasmine plant, ( extra special as that is their daughters name) two jars of soil, and a watering can...I guess based on a "grow our love" sentiment. Among the dogs being walked, kids swimming and people generally enjoying the warmth of the sun, we were entertained for most of the set up with a very fit lady in a tiny white crocheted bikini, doing an extensive stretching workout, and display of tricks in a hula hoop. The smile on our faces was only out done, by the delight of Peters groomsmen when they arrived, for a birds eye view, right in front of the back drop lol... Always great to team up with the talented Lisa Lent Photography who was Emma's first priority to book, and Celebrant Lisa Philipsen, officiated the service. Extra shout out and thanks to my fit, young helper on the day Campbell, who ran up and down the beach lugging everything, and was right in sync with me, with his (inherited) attention to detail. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Pope, it was the most perfect day ❤️ even when we went back to pack down, it was still so beautiful, with the sun starting to set.
