Slow progress on the trailer. Haven't had much free time lately. Hopefully ready for the Christmas trip to the Vic High Country.

Control panel for the trailer coming along nicely. $15 for second hand head unit. $35 for pre-owned but never used speakers. Switch panel was $55 but came with everything, most importantly was the 5 pin switches..... Will show why that's important later.

This should take care of any power needs!
Budget Camper Build
Started on the drawbar box today. Bit of weight in it that I'll need to counter later on. So far there's a Dunn and Watson kitchen that I found used on Gumtree, my ARB fridge/freezer and a Waeco fridge that I repaired on the passenger side, will probably put some drawers in on the drivers side, not sure yet.
Budget Camper Build
Building a camper trailer from a PX Ranger Supercab tub. Trying to use second hand parts where possible just for fun and to see whether it's possible to make something work without spending big $$$.

Fitting a Redarc BCDC1225LV with an AGM Kick Ass 120AH Slimline battery to the Arual Mechanical mascot Jack. Didn't want to lose tub space but also needed to be able to carry my essentials behind the rear seat. I don't leave home without my jack, jumper cables, socket set, tyre repair kit and comprehensive first aid kit in the Snap-On bag. This setup will comfortably run my 60L ARB fridge/freezer for 4-5 days without running the car. Solar input from a decent size panel will allow it to run indefinitely. While I had everything pulled apart, I figured it was a great time to fit an ARB Air Compressor that I picked up second hand. There's still heaps of room in that storage space for more stuff.
Noogee 2016
Photo journey of Old Yella's adventure to the Patrolapart 4x4 Challenge. A huge thanks to the other teams who helped us rebuild the winch on the first night and change the clutch on the second.
Another huge day at the Patrolapart 4x4 Challenge. Today saw a burnt-out clutch deliver us a couple DNF's in the afternoon. A mad dash to Warragul was unsuccessful but we managed to find someone out here who had one. Working into the night, we managed to get the new clutch fitted by about 0100. Next time we will be sure to leave lots of room between the transfer case and the support bars.
Bit of work to do on the first night of the Patrolapart Winch Challenge in Noogee. There's a great community spirit and a wealth of knowledge here, people from several race teams are pitching in to make sure Team Border Carpentry has a kick arse second day of racing.

Basic service at a customers shed this morning on a very tidy Volvo FH16. Customer wanted to supply genuine oil and filters but he got a much better price by buying in Wagga rather than locally. Servicing on a weekend means no downtime for him and my low overheads and extensive Volvo training and experience translates into significant cost savings. Access to Volvo Tech Tool means that I can check fault codes, run tests and diagnostics and do some minor programming.
