A unique and historic stone barn situated on a picturesque property nestled between the sea and vines of the McLaren Vale wine district. Our barn restoration has been a long labour intensive project over a five year period. Resurrecting our barn from a dilapidated ruin to its present state has allowed us to celebrate our wedding and now share our project with others. Through the ongoing use and preservation of built history we trust others can appreciate and enjoy not only Barn1890 but Sea & Vines Cottage and our wonderful 3 acre property. Please contact us to discover what we can offer you.

What does a beautiful wedding on the other side of the world and an amazing castle in the Scottish Highlands have to do with Barn1890? Well................ this centuries old castle was renovated and owned by the Macrae family. Members of the same family immigrated to SA in the 1850s' and built our stone cottage, Sea and Vines Cottage to raise their children and Barn1890 to house their horses and produce. Whats the chances that both of these amazing old buildings on opposite sides of the Globe now host weddings and special events in truly unique settings.
