D'faces of youth arts Inc.
Description
Based in Whyalla, SA, D'faces supports and encourages young people aged 7 - 27 to get involved in the arts. We run workshops in visual and performing arts and regular club clown classes WORKSHOPS – run each week during term time. You must be a member of D’faces to attend these workshops. Membership is $22 per year.
Classes have low fees and 20% discount applied if paid before week two of term.
CIRCUS
Learn and practice skills in manipulation activities, tricks, acrobatics and performance. Circus classes improve confidence, creativity and motor skills in participants of all ages. Our weekly clown classes are a popular physical activity for people with a creative bent.
Club Clown (Advanced) – Wednesday 4.30 – 6 pm. For experienced clowns and performers (age 9+) $45 ($35) per term
Clown Inc. (Beginners) – Thursday 4.30 – 5.30 pm. For those little brothers and sisters and newcomers to circus skills (ages 6+) $40 ($32) per term
Incubator (preschool) – Tuesday 10.30 – 11 am. Am introduction to physical theatre, music, movement and storytelling for the littlies and their parents.
$30 for a six-week block
DRAMA
An opportunity for creative folk to develop their acting skills, tell stories and perform. Included in the course are developing original works with props, sets and costumes with two public performance prospects.
$25 per term
Junior Troupe – Monday 4.30 – 5.30 pm $25 ($20) per term
Senior Troupe
DANCE
An introduction to various forms of dance including Hip-hop, Jazz and Tap for those that want to ‘give it a go’ and get physical.
Tuesday 5 – 6.30 pm $45 ($35) per term
VISUAL ART
Last Sunday workshops - a variety of workshops and master-classes offering a taste of what local artists are doing and a chance to have a go at something new. These workshops are open to all participants and not just members. In 2015 we have lined up aerosol, puppet making, painting and drawing, sculpture and cartooning.
Last Sunday of each month $3 for members $8 general public
