Hi All, There’s been few queries of late regarding BEF or Three Day Sickness in cattle. FYI – attached is an info sheet to provide a bit of detail on what this disease is, how it spreads, and vaccination available. BEF is normally more of an issue in QLD and Northern NSW, however with the wetter season across many areas, there have been warnings that the disease could become an issue in more southern regions as well. Some of you may have seen the attached article in The Land newspaper Nov 10, which also indicates the virus is moving south this year. If you’re in Southern VIC or SA, this may not be so relevant for you, but the info sheet could be handy if you do field any enquiries from cattle clients that could have heard about BEF in recent media articles etc.
