I got mail today......and it is wonderful! Any parent with a child with anxiety this is the book for you. An awesome book explaining the biology of anxiety, in a easy to understand format. This will help your child with recognising that anxiety can be managed. It has a beautiful section in the back to identify strengths. It is now in my favourite reading list for kids. I love the stance the APS took on same sex marriage: "The Society has long supported marriage equality on mental health and wellbeing grounds. Psychological research provides no evidence that would justify refusing same-sex partners the choice to marry, but there is ample evidence that such discrimination contributes significantly to the risk of mental ill-health among LGBTQI+ people, especially young people, and to creating or worsening social divisions in our society" Empowerment Psychology voted YES and today shared with the majority vote wanting less social division and better mental health for all Australians. Also while out and about met this man who was standing in Circular Quay handing out Free Hugs! Such a lovely way for connection. I walked away smiling and so grateful for a hug. It is amazing what such a simple thing can do to add sunshine to your day.
