THIS WEEKS FISHING REPORT 12/1/2017 courtesy of JC's Bait and Tackle Anglers and campers have been making the most of the fine and sometimes very hot weather this week, with good numbers of fish and yabbies caught in the area. THE MURRAY RIVER: - A couple from S.A. have spent this week at the Pental Island Caravan Park having never been there before, and have had a ball catching nine Murray Cod ranging from 38cm to 54cm. They caught five different species from one snag yesterday including the cod, so they are staying en extra day. Happy days! - Campers at Caelli Lane landed several Murray Cod up to 59cm using chicken, cheese and yabbies. Great fishing all round in the Murray River this week. LAKE BOGA: - Jason from the Caravan Park reports that one angler landed eighteen red fin during the week by using a bobber. He said there were a few small ones amongst them though. He also mentioned that a small cod was caught off the concrete ramp on worms and there is plenty of carp for the kids to catch. LAKE CHARM: - Anglers are still landing some nice redfin and yellow belly using minnows, small yabbies, worms and small hardbodied lures. THE CHANNEL OFF FISH POINT ROAD: - One angler caught a couple of nice yellow belly with one going 3.4kgs yesterday morning. They were caught on a black vibe and a friend of mine called into the shop on his way back from the channel this week with three whoppers. Two measuring 57cm! One of the fish snapped the treble at the split ring on his light coloured vibe. Until next week, happy fishing - JC.

THIS WEEKS FISHING REPORT 5/1/2017 COURTESY OF JC's Bait and Tackle, on the Murray Valley Highway. "We have had some great fishing weather since Christmas Day and the forecast for the next week is going to the same. The reports I have been getting shows that most anglers are catching plenty of fish and yabbies. I cant remember when every river & creek has had such a run of bait & eating size yabbies. THE MURRAY RIVER: Pental Island Area Two cod around the 90cm mark were picked up trolling a stump-jumper up the middle of the river. One boat landed a 53, 55, 61, 66, 67 & 69cm cod and a 53cm yellow belly on a trolled black/purple oargee. Another boat landed 3 cod on lures, 2 under 55cm and 1 at 60cm. Justin Evans sent this photo (2) of an 84cm caught near Swan Hill on a moth! BOUNDARY BEND Mick from the Boundary Bend Store says that two small cod were caught a few days ago, but he did say that good numbers of yellow belly and yabbies are being caught, with plenty of campers about. THE LITTLE MURRAY - Campers from the Big4 Riverside Caravan Park are picking up good numbers of yellow belly and a few small cod on worms, shrimp & yabbies and one young angler landed a 60cm cod on a trolled black/red Bassman spinnerbait. Another counted 100 yabbies in his shrimp net on one pull. THE IRRIGATION CHANNEL The channel between Kangaroo lake and the Fish Point Rd is still producing yellow belly and red fin on worms and vibes, but you have to fight your way through carp. # Contrary to what people STILL believe the Murray in this area is fishing VERY well for Murray Cod and yellow belly, so don't think twice about coming to Swan Hill. Just do it and bring your yabby net! Drop nets only in Victoria and opera house and drop nets in NSW (including the Murray River). . Until Next Week Happy Fishing -JC"
