With hot air ballooning also affected recently due to the #BigWet2017, we sent a clean up team to Lismore for two days to help out with the daunting task of cleaning up. It was a sobering and confronting sight that greeted us. So many homes and businesses affected. Some completely wiped out. However, more significant than the obvious mess is the determination, collaboration, and grit of the community working together. Big shout out to EVERYONE affected, including those still in the middle of it all.
One of the silver linings that comes out of catastrophe is the teamwork and solidarity afterwards. You can see from these photos around Beaudesert and also at our breakfast location at O'Reilly's Vineyard, the extent of flooding and debris. With a day of concerted effort, including many trailers of logs and rubbish and hours and hours of cleaning, the guys have made a great dent in the mess that was left. #bigwet2017
We wonder if we've had a million photos taken on-board our balloons, every day is different and first light from our hot air balloons makes for magic pics.
