• Provide detailed careers research and counselling to enable students to make informed choices regarding the multitude of art & design courses and careers on offer.
• To cater for a range of skills and interests, from beginners to advanced students.
• To enable mature aged students seeking a career change to build their practical & conceptual skills and a to create a folio.
• To build student’s creative confidence
The NCAT Folio Preparation courses offer an alternative to ATAR-Score based University entry. Strong links have been forged between the courses and a number of Tertiary/TAFE courses. NCAT is not a private provider and therefore does not charge tuition fees.
If you are interested in applying to NCAT Folio Preparation for next year, go to our blog:
http://ncatfoliopreparationcreate.blogspot.com.au/p/how-do-i-apply-to-nds.html where you can download an application form. You need to apply directly to NCAT, not through VTAC. Please note that we are not listed in the VTAC Guide. We are another option for you outside the VTAC system. Applicants to this course MUST have satisfactorily completed the VCE or VCAL Senior. We understand that you may not have final VCE results on application but be aware that NCAT course offers are provisional on you successfully gaining you VCE/VCAL Senior or having post certificate III qualifications.
We accept applications from mid-year onwards. On receiving your application we will contact you by mail, with an interview time. We interview students in November, December and just prior to enrolment in early February. Late applications after December will be accepted, however they cannot be guaranteed an interview. You will be required to bring a folio of artworks to your interview, which should include some evidence of drawing/design/art work plus transcripts, reports, references and any other supplementary information you regard as creative.
