There is a lot of enthusiasm and excitement at the pool today! Queenscliff primary are completing their water safety components, including their clothed swim. They were asked not to wear goggles, which the preps and grade ones were excited and surprised about. A student in Karen's class also thinks wearing clothes in the pool 'Feels weird and heavy' Most near drownings occur when people haven't been intending to enter water, clothing becomes heavy and can limit movement. The students are learning how to signal for help and how they can safely assist someone in trouble without putting themselves in danger. The grades 3-6s are also having some fun creating and swimming through currents. Students are taking home some water safety activity booklets after today's session 👍🏽
