MEDIA RELEASE Port Augusta City Council welcomes delegates to the Australian Rangeland Society’s 19th Biennial Conference to be held at Central Oval in Port Augusta from 25 to 28 September 2017. This important conference will explore the key theme of "transition to transformation" by engaging in the question of how to live sustainably in the rangelands now and into the future. Delegates will share their ideas and experience of the challenges and opportunities facing rangeland environments, industries and communities during a time of significant change. Port Augusta City Council wishes conference organisers and delegates success in exploring these important issues. Students of the School of Architecture of the University of Adelaide are in Port Augusta this week for an intensive on-site studio. The topic is the regeneration of the public space of Port Augusta CBD. This year the students will implement a public space intervention or “place making” installation. Head down to the vacant block across from the Hot Bread Shop and check out what they are up to.
