Hazy dusk in the dahlia patch 🌿. This bed was a panicked afterthought I created last November. It has everything dahlias and zinnias don't like (but I ignored when I planted them): boggy soil, low airflow and poor drainage. And yet, I'm getting flowers anyway ✨ plants are often so very kind and forgiving to lazy gardeners like me ☺️💫

It must be late summer because suddenly there are delicious treats woven into the flowers; hops, basil and rose hips ✨⠀ They're worth waiting all year for though 🌿⠀ Plenty more of these beauties in these shades and more on their way to The Market Shed today 💫

Up the ladder in the elder tree. Our first berry harvest 💜✨ (photo by Sage). It was one of those things on my to-do list this week that kept getting bumped down, always added to tomorrow's. Which is ridiculous because fruit harvest is one of those things that once I'm doing it, is so much fun and makes my heart so happy. And yet I resist doing nice things like this, and keep thinking 'I'll get to it..' Who else does this? What is the thing you love to do that lifts your spirit and makes your soul sing ? Do you resist it in favour of other 'busy' tasks sometimes ? My hope for myself is to do this kind of thing more often.. Moving it straight to the top of the list in fact 💜.

One of the best parts of summer are the endless light filled evenings. ⠀ After dinner, and before bed, there is still plenty of time to ride on ponies through the orchard 💚
