Love this! It's a reminder to us ladies to be gentle with ourselves. I have really been tuning into my body a lot this past year and rather than forcing myself to be a certain way or train hard all the time, I aim to respond to how my body changes through out the month. It's made such a positive difference. It's a learning process but it's quite liberating. 😘 #listentoyourbody #selfkindness

I went through this stage where I forced myself to be positive – every single day. I started the day getting my mind into a space that did not allow what I thought was negativity. This included denying pain, anger, sadness, unhappiness. The idea of discomfort was perceived as weakness, as a burden, as negative. I thought if I gave into those feelings I was losing or giving up. But the thing is, those emotions I pushed down at times, the heavier ones, they needed to surface. For without facing the depths of who I am, I would deny myself the opportunity to feel free. Life is not going to be a constant high. It took me a while to accept that truth. By embracing all of what I feel, JOY has been a constant flow in my life. And I don’t need to force it either – it’s just continuously present. Even when I feel emotions rise up that make me uncomfortable, joy is always what follows. I now know that denying what we feel is a robbery we commit on ourselves. It hides the truth of who we are and what life is teaching us. It also takes away our peace. We don’t have to pretend to be positive all the time. It just doesn’t make sense. The realest way to live is by being real. It’s not negative to admit pain or tiredness, or even anguish. It’s truthful and courageous. It’s what sets the soul alight and brings forth solutions and growth that mend an aching heart. Seasons come and seasons go, just like summer, just like winter. There is a time for laughter, a time for tears, a time for moving, a time for rest. That includes being honest with what’s going on – DEEP down inside. Acknowledge what you feel and you will have the opportunity to heal, leading you into joy. Deny it, and it will be a heavy weight to carry using up precious energy. Aren’t you tired of running away from what you feel? It’s time to dig deeper. Read & Share the Post: http://www.anjelicasmilovitis.com/forced-positivity-or-being-real/
