STORM DAMAGE: We've mapped some of the areas where yesterday's storm caused the most damage. The NSW SES responded to 2,500 calls yesterday as a storm ripped from Penrith through Mount Druitt and Blacktown.

STORM UPDATE: Penrith NSW State Emergency Service has received 120 calls for assistance from 2.30pm to 8pm. Thirty jobs have been completed, 90 still to go. Crews from Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and Baulkham Hills assisting. Big thanks to all the volunteers working in the area.
SHOOTING UPDATE: Accused refused bail as victim “recovering well”
The man accused of the Nepean Hospital shooting did not apply for bail, and it was formally refused by Penrith Local Court today. Shooting victim Barry Jennings, the Nepean Hospital security guard, is said to be in good spirits and looking forward to returning to work.

One dead, one critical after storm
CAR HIT BY TREE UPDATE: The 60-year-old woman flown to hospital after a tree fell on the vehicle she was driving at Emu Plains is in a stable condition in hospital, despite being trapped for 40 minutes. Her passenger has died in the incident. PIctures and video.
FATALITY AFTER TREE HIT CAR: Police have confirmed a man died after a tree fell on a car at Emu Plains. A large tree fell across the Great Western Highway near Dukes Oval. A helicopter flew a female patient to Westmead Hospital where they are in a critical condition.
TRAFFIC UPDATE: Live Traffic is indicating there are power outages around the Mulgoa Road/Castlereagh Road intersection with Jane St. Be careful in the area.
CAR UNDER TREE: A CareFlight helicopter is currently flying one female patient to Westmead Hospital after a car was hit by a falling tree in Emu Plains on the Great Western Highway.
