The Wine Education Centre is the prime provider of wine education in Perth for both the wine enthusiast and wine trade. The Wine Education Centre (WEC) is the educational arm of Wines of Western Australia. It is the prime provider of wine education for consumers and trade in Western Australia. It has been providing quality wine education for well over 40 years.
It offers the four-week wine essentials course and a range of specialist and theme tastings like Champagne, Riesling and Shiraz/Syrah.

The Rhone Rangers Tasting was an insight to some of the best Shiraz based wines in the world! The Grange 2008 was wine of the night closely followed by Maurice O'Shea!
The Rhone Rangers Shiraz/Syrah Tasting Extravaganza
This is your chance to taste Grange Shiraz 2008 and answer the $850 question as to whether it is worth it? Taste a range of arguably the world’s best examples of Shiraz/Syrah from the two leading producer countries - Australia and France. There will be an introduction to the Northern Rhone - France, which is the home to Syrah. The winemaking philosophies of both countries will be introduced and discussed prior to tasting the wines. The tasting includes a stunning line up of eight of the world’s best styles including Penfold’s Grange 2008 (RRP $850), Chapoutier SP Les Greffieux Ermitage Rouge 2008 (RRP $350), Guigal Cote Rotie, D’Arenberg ‘Dead Arm’, Mt Pleasant (Winery of the Year), Torbreck Descendant … and more. This should be an extraordinary tasting and will no doubt raise some discussion over Grange’s value for money?! This is strictly limited in numbers so please be quick as it will book out quickly. Light finger food and cheese will be supplied and arranged by the fabulous Cass Beeson.
