Description
I am creating two kinds of handmade wooden mosaic puzzles. Each fits within a 40cm x 40cm wooden frame.
They are ecoethical and perfect for ages 3-103.
I am creating these puzzles as I have never found anything for sale quite like them and i believe them to be perfect for young children through to the aged.
Not only are they fantastic for developing basic mathematical understandings, they inspire open-ended imaginative play and artistic design sensibilities. And fine-motor skills.
I am also striving to create them as ecoethically as possible using sustainable timbers, Australian non-toxic paints, natural finishes and reused packaging. The blocks themselves are cut in a small family woodworkers in Thailand.
They can be purchased from me at tesselates@gmail.com for $45 for the chess board and $60 for the multicoloured, plus postage. Unpainted sets, colour pictures and activity sheets (free) are also available.

And some more pics from Casuarina Steiner School Spring Fair. The blocks they use are from samples I have made and bring out for experience at markets. And it is always rewarding to see how children, often with parents or grandparents, stop, relax, co-operate and create. So good.
I am continually thrilled by the focus, imagination and talents evidenced in children playing with my puzzle pieces
Hoping to get to Casuarina Steiner School Spring Fair in Coffs Harbour this Saturday with puzzles and some other suitable items.

I am constantly amazed by the glory of the patterns that arise when I play as I put pieces into a frame to get ready to sell. The angled one is a variation of a design my friend Charlie messaged to me...And mostly i am just making symmetry.
