Description
A growing & energetic congregation (with a 152-year history) that seeks to love each other the way Jesus told us to and to love the community the same way! Mount Gambier has had a Baptist presence and witness since 1864. We've taken many forms and met in a number of locations over that time, but we've always been a church deeply concerned about the community and the way we demonstrate who Jesus is to it.
We are a large regional church, where people of all ages and all walks of life come together to worship Jesus and enjoy our faith together. We value the contribution of all generations, and aim to see everyone become the ministers we believe Jesus intends us to be.
On any Sunday morning service you'll encounter a modern approach to church, plenty of time and space provided for kids, a strong emphasis on the way the Bible teaches us to live, a group of people willing to take time to make a new friend, and a very deliberate sense of reverence for significant church events such as communion and baptism.
We also believe in the presence and leading of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised; so we expect a degree of interaction with Him in these times.
But we are also a church that will not separate Sunday from the rest of our week. Jesus has an expression on Monday and we believe we are supposed to be involved with this. We see our city as our God-placed mission. We are deeply committed to being connected and encouraging each other all through the week as well and our extensive network of house churches and other events help make that happen.

Well, the first round of NYE fireworks has taken place here in the Mount, so this means the year is just about done! We hope you all have a fantastic New Year and a wonderful and safe celebration tonight. And if you're in town, we'd love to see you in the morning! Our morning worship service will run at our normal time of 9:30am. Sounds like a great way to get the year started!
We're just a few days away from Christmas! We hope all your plans for the weekend are coming together nicely. If you are traveling, please be safe on the roads and we will be praying for you. If you are staying in the Mount this year, you are of course welcome to join us for a time of worship this Christmas morning at the special time of 9am.
Christmas Day Service
We have another great day of worship and witness ahead of us today! Our morning worship gathering is going to be great and that kicks off in a bit over 90 minutes. And later tonight, the Blue Lake Carols are on, and the band has a very strong Baptist showing! That is going to be a pretty amazing event as well! But first we'll see you at 9:30!
Our kid's takeover service for Christmas takes place this morning and we're just 20 minutes from the start! With the number of children involved, we will not be going live with our service today.

Hi everyone! So we have one massive weekend coming up! It's Vision Sunday on the 27th, and this will be a great time to learn about the values and goals we are setting for the year ahead. We'll be live via Facebook, but would love for you to be present and involved with us on the day. But before that we are hosting the SURGE combined youth event which is going to be amazing as well! Melbourne Rap artist Markia is joining us and we're in for a great time! We look forward to seeing you all there!
