Sly Boat Building & Repair Centre was established in 1965, as J.L.Sly Boat Builders and renamed Sly Boat Building & Repair Centre in March 2013. There is no job to big or to small that cannot be done at our Mordialloc Factory, along with limited services on site at Sandringham Yacht Club.
Our services provided include:
Repairs to all types of boats: – OTB sailing boats, Trailer sailors, Power boats & Keel boats. Spray painting, rigging services, welding, OTB Trolley manufacturing and full lifting facilities within our factory.
Insurance work.
New Boats built on site: – B14, Sabot, Minnow, Sabre, Australian Sharpies.
Agents for: –
NB Sailsports, Tasar / 29er / 29erXS / 49er / 49erFX / Far East Optimist and all associated parts.
Mackay Trailers (double-deck racks & trolleys manufactured to order)
Suppliers of: – Ronstan, Harken & Slam quality fittings and clothing.

Racing at the 9er Nationals is all done and dusted. Congratulations Team Sly Boat Building & Repair Centre with great results in both 49er & 29er classes. In the 49ers we had James & Tom (305) finishing in 7th with Haydon & Mac (703) in 9th. In the 29ers Harry & Brandon (2066) finished 5th with Hayden & Casey (1877) a creditable 21st in their first 29er Nationals. We are proud to support these teams in their sailing. The 29er teams now start racing at the Australian Youth Championships being sailed out of Adelaide Sailing Club through until Saturday. Good luck boys. Our 49er teams are now back in Melbourne planning what might be next.

Hello all, Just letting all those at the 9er Nationals know that we are on site. For those who pre ordered parts, we have them ready for collection. If anyone has any requirements during the event please let us know. We are located at the Sea Scouts Hall situated to the North West of the club. When leaving the club, drive out the main gates and turn right or just give us a call. See you all around the club or on the water.

It must be Christmas, an empty factory!!! Next stop for us is the 9er Nationals being sailed out of Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron, where we will be on site with spare parts for the 9er classes. We would to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for the business & support this year. We trust you will all have a great Christmas & New Year, with success at your regattas over this period.
