Excuses don't burn calories In my late teen years, fitness became a major part of my life. After finishing school, I attended Charles Sturt University, completing a Bachelors degree of Exercise Science (Rehabilitation). As Rugby Union was my sport of choice, I wanted to increase my knowledge of the human bodies working mechanisms, improving strength and neuromuscular response. During my time at University i was able to apply my knowledge to my own training, which I attribute to sporting achievements of high honours and further opportunities which were to increase my knowledge of the fitness world.
I completed my level 1 and 2 (out of 3) Strength and Conditioning coaching course, specialising in Olympic lifting. Upon graduating, I obtained my level 3 and 4 in Fitness. Obtaining this qualification gave me a whole new perspective on training and opened numerous opportunities. One of the opportunities lead me to play Rugby Union in Oxford, England. While in England, I was a Strength and Conditioning Advisor and Fitness Co-ordinator for 2 seasons with the club in which I was based. Training in a new country opened more doors and enlightened me to new training methods and training cycles. I trained clients privately and continued to increase my qualifications by completing my level 1 Kettle Bell course accreditation, recognised worldwide.
I have lead an extensive sporting career, which has only be made possible through my desire to learn about the world of Exercise Science. While studying, I captained my local university side, captained the regional Central West Blue Bull of NSW and played for NSW Country Cookatoos. Also at university I represented Charles Sturt at the Australian University games, I was selected in NSW University side for Australian selection but could not take part due to work commitments.
Internationally I played for Oxford Harlequins Rugby Union Club, played for the regional County side of Oxfordshire XV and Was invited to play for the prestigious Penguins International Invitational XV completing in London's 10's competition. Upon returning from Overseas, I have played for the Sunshine Coast Stingrays in the Brisbane premier competition from which I gained selection in the 2013 Queensland Blue Heelers Country XV.
My experience, knowledge and sporting ability has enabled me to travel the world gaining valuable life experiences. This has broadened my knowledge, as well as improved my practical application to training. The knowledge gained has allowed me to carefully develop the diverse and specific training methods incorporated within #tag fitness, catering for both individuals and groups. #tag fitness aims to create programs that target any age, gender and activity level in order to find results and change the way fitness is viewed.
